Short version: no accounts, no ad trackers, and the URLs you check aren’t stored on our side.
URLs you check
When you trace a URL, our server requests it and sends the result back to you. We don’t keep a database of checked URLs. Like any web server, our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps short-lived request logs for operations and abuse prevention, and a per-IP counter is held in memory to enforce fair-use limits.
AI explanations
If you press “Explain this chain”, the traced hops (URLs, status codes, timings and a few headers) and any goal you typed are sent through Vercel AI Gateway to a language model to write the explanation. Nothing is sent unless you press the button. Don’t put personal data in the goal field.
Stored in your browser
Your recent checks (last 20 URLs with their result) and your last bulk list are saved in this browser’s localStorage so they survive a reload. They never leave your device unless you run a check again.
Analytics
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics, a cookieless analytics tool, to count page views and referrers. It doesn’t use cookies or build profiles across sites.
