RedirectCheck Pro is committed to protecting your privacy while only gathering the high-level insights we need to improve the product. This policy explains how we handle data when you use our redirect analysis tools.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal data from your redirect analyses. RedirectCheck Pro operates entirely in your browser. All redirect analysis, history tracking, and results are processed and stored locally on your device. We only collect anonymized, aggregate engagement metrics (page views, device type, coarse geography) via Ahrefs Analytics to understand overall usage patterns—these metrics are never tied to individual users.

Local Storage

We use browser storage technologies (IndexedDB and localStorage) to save your redirect check history and preferences on your device. This data:

  • Stays on your device only
  • Is never sent to our servers
  • Can be cleared at any time through your browser settings or our History page
  • Is controlled entirely by you

Network Requests

When you analyze a URL, our application makes network requests to:

  • The target URLs you specify (to trace redirect chains)
  • Our proxy API (only when direct requests fail due to CORS restrictions)
  • Ahrefs Analytics (to record page views, device type, and approximate region). We only receive aggregated reports and do not access IP addresses or personally identifiable information.

These requests are made from your browser, and we do not log or store the URLs you analyze.

Third-Party Services

Ahrefs Analytics

We load Ahrefs' lightweight analytics script to measure aggregate usage. The data collected is limited to page views, basic device details, and coarse geography so we can improve the product. We do not receive IP addresses or user-level profiles, and we do not combine these metrics with any other identifiers.

Vercel AI Gateway

When you request AI-powered recommendations, the redirect chain data you submit is proxied through Vercel's AI Gateway. The gateway forwards the prompt to our configured model provider while giving us rate limiting and observability without exposing your data directly to the provider.

AI Features (Optional)

If you choose to use AI-powered recommendations, your redirect analysis data is sent to Vercel's AI Gateway, which securely forwards the prompt to our configured model provider. This is:

  • Optional and only triggered by explicit user action
  • Clearly indicated when you use these features
  • Not used for training AI models (per provider policies for traffic routed through the AI Gateway)

Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally in your browser:

  • Data persists until you clear it
  • Clearing browser data removes all stored history
  • Switching devices means starting fresh (no sync across devices)

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

  • Access: View all stored history on the History page
  • Delete: Clear history at any time using the "Clear History" button
  • Export: Download your history as CSV anytime

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
